Upcoming Dates for Nith Whitewater, and Paddling Lessons

The 2026 Nith Outlook

The Nith River is a seasonal phantom. It doesn’t run all year—it only wakes up when the spring melt and rains align, offering a technical, splashy trek through deep Carolinian forests that feels completely disconnected from the rest of Southern Ontario.

Because this window is so narrow, we’ve officially opened up bookings for Sunday, May 24th. We already have a group locked in, which means the trip is a “go,” but spots are limited. If you want to experience the Nith this season, now is the time to claim your seat.

While May 24th is our confirmed date, the Nith is entirely rain-dependent. Depending on how the spring runoff behaves, we are looking to open additional dates starting in mid-to-late April and running through May.

  • Want in on May 24th? email or call us directly.
  • Looking for other dates? If you have a group or want to be the first to know when the water levels hit the “sweet spot” in April or May, email or call. We are building a notification list for those ready to head out on short notice when the river is at its best.

Master the Blade: Learning to Paddle (May 3 & May 31)

If you want to move beyond “just floating” and start truly directing your boat, our Learning to Paddle: The Full Day Experience is the best way to build that foundation.

We have openings on May 3rd and May 31st for both canoes and kayaks.

The Itinerary:

  • Morning: We start with dry-land basics and on-water training in a calm, lake-like section of the Grand to dial in your strokes.
  • Lunch Break: A chance to refuel and talk shop.
  • Afternoon: We shuttle up to Paris for a full river trip, putting your new skills to the test in moving water.

By the end of the day, you’ll have the confidence to handle the river like a pro—perhaps even in time to join us on the Nith later in the month.

The river waits for no one, and the Nith waits for even fewer. Whether you’re chasing whitewater or mastering your J-stroke, let’s get you on the water this May.
