Nith River Whitewater Guided Trip: The Technical Heart of Ontario
Experience the Nith at its most alive, where the river narrows, and the current quickens.
$155 – $250
Experience the Nith at its most alive. This is the technical paddler’s run—where the river narrows, the current quickens, and every turn requires a decisive stroke. If you’re looking for more than a drift, this is the adventure that delivers.
The Nith River Whitewater Experience
The seasonal rush of the Nith.
There’s a reason this trip is so highly anticipated each spring. The river is tighter, the rapids are more frequent, and the water moves with an urgency you won’t find elsewhere. It feels wild and remote, cutting through hidden valleys that are only accessible for a few weeks a year. On this guided adventure, you’ll navigate technical Class 1 and 2 rapids—and sometimes Class 3 depending on the flow—with a Paddle Canada Certified guide ensuring you find the perfect line through the foam.
Your Journey Down the Nith
The Calm Before the Current We begin in a peaceful, quiet section of the Nith. This is your time to get settled into your craft, find your rhythm, and warm up your muscles. It’s a chance to enjoy the serenity of the river valley before the landscape begins to tilt and the pace quickens.
Master the Line
Paddling whitewater requires more than just muscle; it requires a plan. Your guide will teach you how to read the “tongues” of the rapids, catch eddies, and use the current to your advantage. Whether you choose a responsive kayak or a traditional canoe, you’ll finish the day with sharper skills and a deeper understanding of moving water.
