Book online now!Experience the river at its best. There is a reason this is the classic Grand River trip. The banks are higher, the trees are older, and the water moves with a bit more energy. It feels remote, yet it’s just minutes from town. On this guided adventure, you’ll navigate the fresh springs and swifts of the Carolinian forest with a Paddle Canada Certified guide, ensuring you see the best of the river safely.
Your Journey Down the Classic
Into the Carolinian Canyon We start by shuttling you upstream to the launch at Glen Morris. As soon as you hit the water, you’ll notice the change in scenery. The river cuts through a deep valley of lush Carolinian Forest, often called the “Northern Amazon” for its density and biodiversity.
Paddling with Purpose This section of the river is known for its “swifts”—sections of fast-moving water that are fun but beginner-friendly. Your guide will teach you how to read the river and steer your boat into the best channels, making you a better paddler by the end of the day.
Hidden Gems Between the swifts, the water is crystal clear, fed by cold freshwater springs. Your guide will point out the massive Black Walnut trees, the remnants of old gypsum mines, and the nesting sites of Bald Eagles and Ospreys that call this valley home.
