New paddling trip rediscovering a forgotten canoe route. 1 of Canada's southernmost paddling routes, Otter Creek is a scenic winding Creek used as a canoe route by Native tribes pre-1650 & then by explorers & settlers until the early 1800's. It was largely forgotten except by a few locals for 180 years. Seldom traveled, Otter Creek is mainly calm slow moving water & a few swifts. It's lined with lush rare Carolinian Forest including old growth trees, hundreds of years old. Winding south there are few signs of civilization save from historic old iron bridges. For Nature lovers, cultural adventurers & paddlers looking to get away from it all.
