Description

Guided Hike | 4 Hours

Venture off the beaten path and discover the untamed beauty of the Nith River valley—one of Southern Ontario’s hidden gems. A tributary of the Grand River and part of a designated Canadian Heritage River system, the Nith winds through some of the province’s largest and most secluded Carolinian forests.

This immersive guided hike leads you through forgotten valleys, past the remnants of lost riverside settlements, and into landscapes few have explored. Spot white-tailed deer moving silently through the trees, watch red-tailed hawks circle overhead, and cross beneath picturesque old iron bridges as you uncover the rich natural and cultural history of rural Oxford County.

Along the way, your guide will share animal tracking techniques and point out hidden relics like a trapper’s lean-to and the stone foundation of a 19th-century pioneer cabin. Gather around a campfire to enjoy a warm trail-side lunch of our signature maple chili.

A truly authentic forest adventure—beautiful and inspiring in every season.
